Fans, Songwriters, Supporters

Due to the uncontrollable circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic, we are terribly disappointed to announce the postponement of the 5th Annual Red Lodge Songwriters Festival until June 24-26, 2021.

The health and safety of our fans, songwriters, volunteers, and community have always been our top concern. Even with all the safety procedures we have put in place, these plans fail if the Songwriter Festival contributes to any further spread of the COVID-19 virus through our community.

Within the next 40 days, ticket buyers and sponsors will have the option to donate their contribution to our organization, hold the money for the 2021 year festival, or request a refund.

The Red Lodge Songwriters Festival has always been a special “coming together” time for songwriters and you, our fans, to gather and share this incredible musical experience in our intimate mountain community. We’re really going to miss everyone’s friendship, talent and togetherness. It will make us appreciate and love next year’s festival even more.

The planning will begin shortly for 2021, in order to bring you the very best Red Lodge Songwriter Festival yet. We will invite all the songwriters from this year’s festival back and maybe a few more.

The Red Lodge Songwriter Festival is the primary annual fundraising event of the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Festival’s Inc. and our work to support music education in our Montana communities.  This year’s cancellation due to COVID-19 will have a significant impact on the organization. RMSWFs is gratefully welcoming donations to help continue to fund our organization.

Thanks to your ongoing support over the last five years, ticket sales and sponsor contributions to the Red Lodge Songwriter Festivals have allowed us to contribute more than $40,000 in mission-based grants.  These grants have helped to fund music education in our local schools, fund the healing of wounded veterans and created a music scholarship at MSU-Billings in the name of Dave Kirby.

As a contributor to our festival you will have one of three options:

  1. Donate your ticket purchase to the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Festival as a tax deductible donation.
  2. Hold on to your tickets and they will be honored at next year’s festival, June 24-26, 2021
  3. Or request a full refund (please submit your request by September 1, 2020)

To reguest a refund email Mike Booth at mike@beartoothbiz.com or call 406-690-5988

THANK YOU for being patient while we navigate this unfamiliar territory.

We love Red Lodge and it’s amazing fans, patrons, sponsors and venues. Ee look forward to making next year’s event our best ever! Stay well and stay in touch!

About The Red Lodge Songwriter Festival

Welcome to the Red Lodge Songwriter Festival. For three days in June the streets of Red Lodge, bars, cafes, and parks become a gathering place for songwriters from Montana, Nashville, and around the country. Park benches, bar stools, hotel lobbies, and parks become picking sessions. This is the place displaying songwriting at its highest level in the amazing mountains of Red Lodge, Montana.

We are looking forward to the 5th Annual August 27, 28, 29, 2020. The 2020 Red Lodge Songwriter Festival will feature great songwriters, new venues, and amazing learning opportunities.

Nashville Hit songwriters and Rising Stars will play their songs and tell the stories behind the songs.

“I’ve been playing songwriters festivals all over the country for the last 20 years and the Red Lodge Songwriter Festival is hands down one of my all time favs. The town is a gem in the Rockies, the people who support it are generous and enthusiastic, the weather is perfect and the music is awesome ! Doesn’t get any better than Red Lodge Songwriter Festival” Brett Jones, Hit Songwriter

Twenty five live performances, twenty four songwriters, eight venues, a songwriting contest. In addition to entertainment and education, this festival supports music in our public schools. Over the last several years the RLSWF, Inc. has donated more than $40,000 to our public school’s music department.

All we’re missing is you. We would like to invite you to Red Lodge and our surrounding mountains we are proud to call home. We look forward to sharing this incredible weekend of songwriting, creativity, and music with you.

Tickets range from VIP packages from $1,750 – $1,050, which include lodging and passes. Passes range from $5 – $175, and even a free show in Lions Park. There’s something for everyone. See you in June!

“I hope that what it comes down to at the end of the day is that people believe that I believe what I’m singing. It comes down to being believable.”
