Melissa Forrette is a 28 year old singer/songwriter living in Decker, MT. She has opened for John Michael Montgomery, Jason Michael Carroll, Moe Bandy and more. With influences of Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette, and George Jones Melissa writes songs she hopes they would be proud of. “The most important thing to me is the story. If I can help one person get through a tough time by relating to my songs, then I’ve done my job “ says Melissa. She currently lives and works on a large cattle ranch in south eastern Montana, and is actively pursuing her music dream while ranching. Her ultimate dream is travel the world and sing her songs , and have her own ranch to come home to. Her voice has been compared to the likes of Janice Joplin and Bonnie Raitt, with a classic country feel of Sammi Smith. Her music has no shortage of soul, pulling from her own personal experiences and heartaches. She has been called “the voice Merle Haggard would be proud of”.
